TestimonialsDiscover the Regional Breast Care Difference
Dr. Aihara’s humble spirit and compassionate demeanor is unmatched.
– Sybil Edgar, Breast Cancer Survivor
A little over a year ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I never imagined I would hear my doctor say those words to me. What would I do next I thought, who would I go to for treatment, would I die? Fortunately for me my nurse practitioner knew exactly who to send me to and where…..Dr. Rie Aihara at Regional Breast Care in Fort Myers. From the moment I walked into her calm and comforting office area, I was greeted by the most caring and friendly group of women I had ever met. These women would stand by my side, offer their help and support throughout my entire journey. From the secretary who greeted me with a warm smile and help in filling out the necessary paperwork, to the supportive staff behind the scene, the Patient Navigators that helped guide me through my journey and beyond, the physician assistant that called and checked on me regularly or got back to me quickly with an answer to a question or concern I might have, to a gifted doctor – Dr. Aihara – who put this all together. There are many words that come to mind when I think of Dr. Aihara – kind, caring, sincere, professional, knowledgeable, dedicated, supportive, humble, but the one I will always say is amazing! Dr. Aihara has dedicated her life to saving other people’s lives, including mine! She is the most skilled doctor I have ever met, both surgically and emotionally. She has a special way of making you feel at ease, safe, comfortable, secure in knowing that you will be alright, you will get through it and you will never have to do it alone as she and her staff will be with you every step of the way. I owe my life to Dr. Aihara and her team and I recommend her to anyone who is diagnosed with breast cancer. Dr. Aihara’s business cards say “Exceptional Care with a Personal Touch” and there is no truer statement than that!

When you receive a diagnosis of breast cancer, your entire life and the lives of your family and friends change immediately. You pray that the recommended Doctor will be able to help you. I knew that my prayers were answered from the minute I met Dr. Rock. He became my “rock” by making me feel comfortable with his warm smile, caring manner and experience. As he described my breast cancer and my options, I realized that I would survive this crisis and be whole again. At no time did he ever try to influence my decision but was always available to answer questions and to reassure me, either by phone or an extra office visit. Both my husband and I felt very confident in Dr. Rock’s abilities. During my second visit, we decided on bi-lateral mastectomy and reconstruction. Our next step was to coordinate my surgery by Dr. Rock and the Plastic Surgeon, who would begin the reconstruction process. On the day of my surgery, while being prepared, Dr. Rock arrived to talk to my husband and I, giving us that added feeling that all would go well. My surgery did go smoothly and successfully and my reconstruction has now been completed. I will continue to be seen by Dr. Rock over the years and actually look forward to these appointments. He is a very special person and talented surgeon and I feel blessed to have been in his care.
